Cardiff Fashion Show

Whilst waiting for the show there was an exhibition, and I got talking to this lady who makes perfume, and its her business and she does workshops. Perfume making workshops, i didn't even know they existed. I really wanna try this out and tell you about it when I do.

My photos are horrible, really need to get a decent camera. The show was based on high-street shops for example River Island, Peacocks and Armani Exchange. They all collaborated and made outfits.

Photo Shoot around Cardiff

My Friend Hollie Burge needed a model for her Street wear Project in Photography. I was flattered and happy to do it. We walked around Cardiff and shot places she liked we made a day of it and wondered around looking at shops, doing a little shopping.

New Russian Hat

I adore my new Russian hat! I feel like a cosy little old granny! The first outfit was taken in Newport.
I do admit that I'm such a charity ho. The second outfit is basically car booth sales and charity. I always try to balance out high-street shops or more expensive clothing or clothing that isn't second with second hand clothing. Because I feel that I have created something else out of both styles and be neither stereotyped as a high-street gal or a vintage chic.

Denim Project!

Studio

Our First Project was to create something new out of denim. We were given 4 days to make this garment. I decided to turn my denim inside out and cut a hole on the crotch and made the legs as sleeves.
I was going for a more grungy look as the denim reminded me of teh 90's, I thought of sticking with what I got and unpicked the labels from jeans and patched them up on my jacket
For the bottom I unpicked the waist band with the zip attached to it.
I then cut open the bottom of the jeans with a different shade of denim and sewed that to the waist band.
For the accessory I decided to make a headband/ hat and painted the word fresh on it. I thought of street wear now and got the idea from t-shirts saying Dweeb, Dork, Wild.

PHOTO SHOOT

We collaborated with the fashion Photography students for a photo shoot. It was really good that one of my roommate is was one of the Fashion photography students, also Beth who I got on really well with during the week was modelling my clothes so it was a fun, comfortable shoot.
I style my model with the fresh head band with two tassels on the side and plaited that to her hair.
sandals from river island and ripped tights.

So Uni..

On the 14th of September I moved to South Wales for uni. It was so daunting and surreal. I didn't know what to do with myself just thinking is this independence, just feeling lost. My roommates are lovely, we are all such a diverse mixture and we get along.
I made friends with people in another block of flats and feel that we had a special bond, so going to hang out with these guys. One of them lives near Brighton and another in London, so nice to know I'm not the only one silly enough to move so far away from home.

Course is brilliant so professional with theory and business. Something that I've never done before, I'm really looking forward to knowing what the industry wants and knowing whats going on and what happens in fashion in great depth.

I would have to say Newport is not the really the best of all places, I guess that's coming from someone that lived in the City of Brighton 'London by the sea' so it's just very different to what I'm used to. It is an old village surrounded by country side. It is a bit rundown but I guess different is good. I do like Caerleon though, it so beautiful and peaceful green hills everywhere.
Plus Cardiff is only moments away!
